This month, my work environment was turned on its head, and it made me realize a few things:
In a chaotic work environment, being intentional about what to do and when to do it isn’t a luxury. If I don’t AGGRESIVELY PLAN it, it won’t just happen.
If you observe distracting patterns closely enough, you can put together a system to work around them, even when they happen daily. You design to work within the spaces of calm.
BONUS
When you track the number of deep-work hours you spend on your bold and meaningful goals for the year, you can quickly spot when your environment has changed—even slightly. So if you aren’t tracking, please start.
I use Toggl, but a simple notepad app on your phone should do.
All the best as we enter the month of March.
Until then,
This is Eli. Stay exceptional.
